The Other Non-Reportable segment includes Alere Home Monitoring, which distributes PT and INR coagulation; monitors and facilitates the distribution of equipment; and supplies to power and control customers' implanted ventricular assist devices and VADs. It also provides telemonitoring services that allow VAD coordinators to monitor patients soon after discharge and receive alerts when critical patient values fall outside pre-established ranges. The company was founded by Ronald Zwanziger on May 11, 2001 and is headquartered in Abbott Park, IL.
