It operates through three reportable segments: Shutterfly Consumer, Lifetouch, and Shutterfly Business Solutions.  The Shutterfly Consumer segment provides products, such as portraits, cards, and stationery items, professionally-bound photo books and yearbooks, personalized gifts and home décor products, and calendars and prints; and mugs, ornaments, candles, pillows, and blankets through the Shutterfly, Tiny Prints, and Groovebook domains, as well as rents photographic and video equipment under BorrowLenses brand. The Lifetouch segment offers photography services for schools, preschools, and retail stores the under the JCPenney portrait brand at approximately 400 retail studios, as well as churches and other groups.  Shutterfly Business Solutions provides direct marketing and other end-consumer communications, as well as just-in-time and inventory-free printing services. Christopher North and Eva Manolis founded it on September 1, 1999, with its headquarters in Redwood City in California.

The line chart allows you to select different time spans. Each time span plots a time interval. On the 1 day span and weekly span, there is additional logic to only show the interval when trades occur. This allows you to see when trading volume occurs during periods of slower activity like extended hours or thinly traded equities. The candlestick chart works in the same manner.

Charts for 24 Hour Market securities display activity from 12 - 12 localized time. The “High” and “Low” statistics represent the highest and lowest values from 12 AM - 12 AM localized time. This includes market, extended, and overnight hours. Overnight volume displays the number of shares that are traded on the BOATS ATS during overnight hours, from 8 PM - 4 AM ET.
