The Energy Equipment segment designs, builds, and supports capital equipment and integrated systems used in oil and gas exploration and production. The company was founded in 1862 and is headquartered in Houston, TX.

Like other services firms, NOV faces a softening global macroeconomic environment, excess oil supply, and weaker Chinese oil demand.

NOV’s reliance on acquisitions in lieu of internal R&D could prove value destructive.
