About DASH

Dash aims to be the most user-friendly and scalable cryptocurrency in the world. It is a Bitcoin-based currency featuring instant transactions, secured by a “double-send-proof” mechanism, which allows funds to be sent securely and instantly. Additional features include an erasable transaction history and the ability to send transactions anonymously. Unlike Bitcoin, Dash offers faster transaction times and lower fees. In addition, for a slightly higher fee, Dash has an “instant send” functionality, which allows transactions to be confirmed almost instantly. Dash was originally released as XCoin (XCO), but changed its name to “Darkcoin” in February 2014. In March 2015, Darkcoin was rebranded as “Dash,” which is a combination of the words “digital” and “cash.” The Dash development team consists of over 50 members and is led by former financial services professional, Evan Duffield.
