Automatic investments

Automatic investments let you set a schedule to buy crypto and Stock Tokens regularly. Instead of manually placing an order each time, you choose the asset, amount, and frequency, and Robinhood will place the order for you automatically.

How it works

  1. Choose an asset
  1. Choose a frequency and a start date
  • You can invest on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis
  1. Add funds
  • Automatic investments use your buying power balance
  • You will need to top up funds through SEPA transfers before your scheduled order
  • If you do not have enough buying power, you will receive a push notification and in-app banner reminder 24 hours before
  1. Execution
  • Orders are grouped and executed together once per day between approximately 16:30-18:30 CET/CEST
  • Prices and fees may vary slightly due to batch execution

Fees

  • Crypto assets: 0.50% (50 bps) fee
  • Stock Token automatic investments: No commission, but standard FX conversion fees apply
Keep in mind
  • If your order fails due to insufficient buying power, it will retry at the next scheduled buy until you add funds or cancel.
  • Orders with fee changes will still execute, and the updated fee will apply.

FAQ

What happens if I miss a deposit?

If you do not add enough funds, your investment will not go through. Robinhood will remind you before the next scheduled buy. If you do not update your buying power prior to the order’s execution, the order will fail and retry at the next scheduled execution time. This will continue to occur until you cancel the recurring order.

Can I have multiple automatic investments at once?

Yes. You can set up multiple investments across different assets and schedules.

Can I stop an investment anytime?

Yes. You can pause or cancel your plan at any time in Automatic investments.

Do I get charged even if my order does not go through?

No. Fees only apply if your order is successfully executed.
