Stock market closures

Our offices are closed for the following days that the US stock market is closed.

US stock market closures

  • President’s Day and Washington's Birthday (February 17)
  • Good Friday (April 18)**
  • Memorial Day (May 26)
  • Juneteenth (observed on June 19)
  • Independence Day (July 4)*
  • Labor Day (September 1)
  • Thanksgiving Day (November 27)*
  • Christmas (December 25)*
  • New Year’s Day (January 1)
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 19)
Keep in mind

The closure days listed don’t count as stock or cash settlement days.

When US banks are closed

In addition to US stock market holidays (listed in the previous section), the following upcoming US bank holidays are:

  • Veterans Day (November 11)
  • Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Columbus Day (October 13, 2025)

**Your bank may be open on Good Friday.

Keep in mind

Generally the UK time is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Time (ET). However, between the second Sunday in March and the last Sunday in March, it is 4 hours and between the last Sunday of October and the first Sunday in November.

When UK banks are closed

In addition to US stock market closures, the following days are when most UK banks are closed:

  • Monday after Easter Sunday (21 April)
  • First Monday in May (5 May)
  • Last Monday in May (26 May)
  • Last Monday in August (25 August)
  • Boxing Day (26 December)

*US stock market half-days

Stock market trading will close at 1 PM ET (with extended-hours trading concluding at 3 PM ET) on the following upcoming US market half-days:

  • Day before Independence Day (July 3)
  • Native American Heritage Day, the day after Thanksgiving (November 28)
  • Day before Christmas (December 24)
