What you need to get started

To apply for a Robinhood account, you’ll need to have a device that meets our Technology requirements, and meet all of the following individual requirements:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have a valid National Insurance number
  • Have a UK bank account
  • Have a UK residential address
  • Be a UK resident for income tax purposes
  • Not a US person
Note

The laws and regulations administered by Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation HM Treasury impose restrictions on the provision of services to persons, including UK citizens and permanent residents, who are located in specified sanctioned jurisdictions, including Afghanistan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Myanmar, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, and Zimbabwe. If you travel to these locations, you won’t be able to access your account, and attempted log-ins may lead to account restrictions.

Technology requirements

Robinhood is currently available on iOS, Android, and most web browsers.

iOS

Robinhood is available for iPhone and Apple Watch on the App Store. We support all iOS devices running iOS 15 and newer.

Note

Although we don’t specifically support iOS and Android tablets, our mobile apps may run on your tablet.

Android

Robinhood is available for Android on the Google Play Store. We support all Android devices running Android version 7 (Nougat) and later.

Web classic and Robinhood Legend

Robinhood Web supports Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge; and works on both Macs and PCs.
