The company was founded by Jitse Groen and Laurens Groenendijk in 2000 and is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

With the acquisition of Grubhub, a significant portion of the company’s sales (about 40%) will be generated in an intensely competitive U.S. market.
