Travelling with Robinhood

A few things to keep in mind when you use Robinhood while travelling internationally.

Can I access my account while travelling internationally?

You can access your Robinhood account from almost anywhere. However, certain laws and regulations prohibit account access for some countries. Robinhood has also made a risk-based decision to restrict access for some other countries. These countries include:

  • Belarus
  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • Myanmar
  • North Korea
  • Russia
  • Sudan and South Sudan
  • Syria
  • Ukraine
  • Venezuela
Keep in mind

The list of restricted countries can change without notice.

You cannot access your account in these locations. Log-in attempts from them may lead to an account restriction. If this happens, we can only remove an account restriction after confirming you’re no longer in the restricted jurisdiction.

Best practices

  • If your device is lost or stolen, contact us to proactively freeze your account. We can help protect your account from fraud or unauthorized activity. Keep in mind that after your account is restricted, we’ll need information from you to unfreeze it, such as a photo ID and bank statement to validate your identity. The process of unfreezing can take a few days.
  • Before you travel, make sure your contact information is up-to-date and you can access it. If we suspect unauthorized account activity, we will need to get in touch with you.
  • Never share your password. Remember that we will never ask for your account password, verification codes, or credentials regarding your accounts on other trading platforms.
  • Plan ahead if you are travelling to a restricted jurisdiction. Remember that you may not be able to place trades in your account while in a restricted jurisdiction.
  • Only use trusted internet connections while travelling. Public networks, such as in airports or hotels, may not be protected and could leave your personal and sensitive information exposed.
  • Use strong and unique passwords that you don’t reuse for any other services or apps—password managers can help you generate and store your passwords across multiple services.
  • If you suspect fraud or unauthorized activity on your account, contact us immediately.
  • If you are having trouble logging in, you can also reach out to our email at cryptoeusupport@robinhood.com.

Our team can take steps to protect your account and help prevent further fraudulent or unauthorized activity. You will need to let our team know your full name and the email address associated with your account so we can freeze your account and investigate as needed.
