The overall portfolio return is a line chart that is accessible by selecting the 1st of the 3 chart icons shown at the top right of the investing dashboard. The green line in the chart shows how the investments in your portfolio are performing net of management fees. This represents a simple return measure of gain or loss over the time period, relative to the initial amount invested. It does not take the effect of compounding or mitigate the impact of cash flows. The gray line represents the net funded amount (total funding less total withdrawals), which is shown when you select All.
You can focus on your portfolio’s performance over a specified time period by toggling between the different time intervals for the chart view, such as 1W (1 week) or 1M (1 month). Note, the Future time interval links you to a future projection that’s based on your portfolio’s current value and investment allocation. Keep in mind, it’s not a guarantee of future performance. For details, check our Future projection.

The portfolio allocation chart is accessible by selecting the 2nd of the 2 chart icons, which looks like a pie chart that’s shown at the top of your investing dashboard. This chart shows an at-a-glance summary of how the assets are distributed within your portfolio by asset category.
You can interact with it by selecting (or sliding your cursor or finger) around the pieces that make up the chart. This will provide information about what each section represents in your portfolio.
The following example shows that 30% of the portfolio is in growth investments. You can select a percentage section (in the center) to view more details about the assets included in that asset class. By selecting the Growth section, it’ll show that NVDA is part of the Growth allocation in this example portfolio.

If non-portfolio assets are shown in the chart, they represent assets transferred in that will likely be sold.
The return breakdown chart includes the following components of your portfolio’s performance over the selected period:
Select the bar chart (3rd) icon to view a return breakdown for your managed account. Keep in mind that values of $10,000 or more will be rounded to the nearest hundred in the chart. To view the exact amounts, press and hold the bar in the app.

This chart won’t populate until 30 days after investing begins.
By selecting Compare from the Return breakdown chart, you can compare your portfolio returns to a market benchmark. The following shows an example comparison (does not reflect actual results):

We believe the information made available is reliable as of the date you access it in the app, but Robinhood Strategies does not make any representation or guarantees relating to the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of charts or any information or data on which they are based.
Here's how it works:
These comparisons use two indexes as benchmarks:
Indices are benchmarks, not investment products, so they cannot be invested in directly. They aren’t managed and their returns don’t include any fees or expenses. Your portfolio returns are shown net of annual management fees and any underlying ETF fund fees, but generally do not include other miscellaneous fees or expenses that may be incurred by the account. As applicable, such fees and expenses may reduce returns, potentially materially.
Additionally, returns may be artificially high or low because of the timing of recognizing dividends in managed accounts. When dividends are recorded, they contribute to performance when they are received rather than when they are earned. Therefore, returns may be low if dividends are earned but not yet received. Alternatively, returns may show as high if dividends are earned before but received after you make a significant withdrawal.
Finally, we may stop calculating the time-weighted returns in Compare if your account value drops below the minimum of $50, you initiate a full account transfer out or withdrawal, your account is in a deficit or, in certain circumstances, there is a restriction on your managed account.
