The testnet is live for developers to build infrastructure on Robinhood Chain, a financial-grade Ethereum Layer 2 built on Arbitrum, designed to support real-world assets.
We’re launching the public testnet for Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 built on Arbitrum. Our goal is to accelerate the development of onchain financial services—starting with tokenized real-world and digital assets. Developers can now start building with the core foundation of Robinhood Chain and explore what’s possible ahead of a future mainnet launch.
This phase lays the foundational infrastructure that will enable developers to start building and verifying apps on Robinhood Chain. Infrastructure providers including Alchemy, Allium, Chainlink, LayerZero, and TRM are already integrating with Robinhood Chain, and more will onboard in the early stages of the testnet. We look forward to connecting with more builders, partners, and institutions ahead of a mainnet launch later this year.
“The testnet for Robinhood Chain lays the groundwork for an ecosystem that will define the future of tokenized real-world assets and enable builders to tap into DeFi liquidity within the Ethereum ecosystem,” said Johann Kerbrat, SVP and GM of Crypto and International at Robinhood. “We look forward to building alongside our infrastructure partners as we work to bring financial services onchain.”
What’s available on the public testnet
With today’s launch, participants can access:
Network entry points to the Robinhood Chain testnet
Developer documentation hosted at https://docs.robinhood.com/chain
Compatibility with standard Ethereum development tools, built on Arbitrum technology
Early infrastructure support from ecosystem partners including Alchemy, Allium, Chainlink, LayerZero, and TRM
The testnet will support early experimentation, identify potential issues, improve network stability, and build a foundation for developers ahead of the upcoming mainnet launch.
Development focus
Backed by Robinhood’s infrastructure and experience and built on Arbitrum technology, Robinhood Chain was developed with reliability, security, and compliance in mind. It supports seamless bridging and self-custody, with the scalability and customizability needed to build financial-grade decentralized products—including tokenized asset platforms, lending platforms, and perpetual futures exchanges.
In the coming months, developers building on Robinhood Chain will gain access to:
Testnet-only assets, including Stock Tokens, to be used for integration testing
Direct testing with Robinhood Wallet
A familiar developer environment on Ethereum and the Arbitrum ecosystem
“With Arbitrum’s developer-friendly technology, Robinhood Chain is well-positioned to help the industry deliver the next chapter of tokenization and permissionless financial services,” said Steven Goldfeder, Co-Founder and CEO of Offchain Labs. “Working alongside the Robinhood team, we are excited to help build the next stage of finance.”
Developers and institutional partners can find additional information, documentation, and testnet resources at https://docs.robinhood.com/chain.
