Get started with Robinhood Legend

Robinhood Legend is a free advanced trading platform that enables you to build custom layouts and enter trades in seconds from your watchlist, chart, or options chain.

If you don’t have a Robinhood account

  1. Go to Legend
  2. Select Unlock Legend
  3. Apply for a Robinhood investing account
  4. After you’re approved for an investing account, go to Legend
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup

If you already have a Robinhood account

  1. Log in to your Robinhood account on the web
  2. Click Robinhood Legend
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup

Connect a widget on mobile

Connect a widget on mobile

  1. Go to Legend
  2. Select the Mobile icon at top right (as shown in the following image)
  3. You’ll get a notification on your mobile device. Tap the notification to connect

If you don’t get a push notification, check that notifications are enabled in the app for your mobile device. The following shows what the mobile icon looks like:

Keep in mind

Currently, the only linkable widget is the ladder widget, which supports equities and futures. The ladder doesn’t currently support options or index options. Additionally, you can only change:

  • Symbols on the web
  • Groups on your mobile device
  • Account types on the web

You can also minimize the widget on your mobile device by selecting the top bar or swiping down from the top bar.

Switching accounts

You can trade on Legend with your individual and joint investing accounts or IRAs. To switch accounts, select the account icon at the top right, and then select the applicable account.

Note

Crypto is not available for trading in IRAs.

Crypto

All crypto assets in Legend will have a crypto icon associated with them to distinguish them from equities. If you trade on Robinhood Legend, your orders will be routed through smart exchange routing.

Note

Crypto in Legend is currently unavailable for residents of North Carolina.

Futures

Futures

Futures are available on Legend for eligible customers. If you haven’t already, you can apply to trade futures from the app, web classic, or right from Legend.

Note

When you search for a future’s root (like /MES), you can view either the root symbol or a specific contract. If you place an order from a root symbol, the order form will default to show the active contract.
