IRA Learn and Earn
Earn rewards when you learn about the benefits of long-term investing, open, or fund an IRA (individual retirement account) at Robinhood. Learn more about traditional and Roth IRAs at Robinhood in IRA overview.
There are 2 types of Robinhood retirement Learn and Earn lessons—both of which cover IRAs and long-term investing. To receive your IRA Learn and Earn reward, first read a quick lesson about IRAs and long-term investing. After completing the lesson, successfully open an IRA account, or make your first contribution to the IRA you already have at Robinhood and the reward will automatically be deposited into your individual investing account.
You can only earn a reward from a Learn and Earn lesson one time, and your reward amount may vary. The Learn and Earn reward may be discontinued at any time.
The IRA Learn and Earn feature isn't available to all customers.
You may not be eligible for rewards if:
For a limited time only, (and while rewards are available) you may earn $1 or $5 when you make your first contribution to your IRA. The reward amount will vary.
You’ll typically see the reward deposited within 5 business days. The reward will be deposited into your individual investing account, not your IRA.
The reward money is deposited into your individual investing account, and may be reported on applicable 1099 forms where required by rules and regulations.
You must have compensation (wage income) in order to contribute to an IRA. Funds being contributed into or distributed from retirement accounts may entail tax consequences. Contributions are limited and withdrawals before age 59 1/2 may be subject to a penalty tax. Robinhood does not provide tax advice; please consult with a tax adviser if you have questions.
The Robinhood IRA is available to any of our U.S. customers with a Robinhood investing account in good standing. Note, if you have a B-Notice, you won’t be able to open an IRA until your account restrictions are lifted.
