Portfolio Overview | Robinhood

Portfolio Overview

Portfolio Overview lets you view your assets, both on and off Robinhood, in one place. You can connect external investment, retirement, and crypto accounts from other financial institutions to get a more complete picture of your portfolio.

Once external accounts are connected, Robinhood will display your total holdings, allocation by asset type, and the value of each linked account, updated daily through our secure data partner, Plaid.

Note
  • Portfolio Overview is currently available for eligible customers.
  • It’s only available in the Robinhood app (iOS and Android) and not on web classic at this time. Web classic will continue to show your Robinhood profile.

Portfolio Overview

The chart reflects changes in your overall balance, which may include deposits or withdrawals. It doesn’t reflect investment returns.

What you can do

Track portfolio: View the total value of your portfolio and how it changes over time. Your external account data refreshes once daily, so balances and holdings are typically updated within 24 hours. Connection issues may cause balances to update differently than expected.

See allocations: Understand how your holdings are distributed across cash, crypto, equities, ETFs, mutual funds, and more.

Manage accounts: Add or remove external accounts, and reconnect any that have expired.

Privacy mode: Hides your account numbers and values.

  2. Select__ Manage external accounts__ → Connect an account
  3. Review and agree to the Linked External Financial Accounts terms
  4. Select your financial institution and follow the prompts to sign in securely

Once linked, you’ll see your account and financial data reflected in your Portfolio Overview.

Note

Robinhood Spending and Robinhood Banking accounts are not available to link or display in Portfolio Overview.

How to remove accounts

  1. In your Robinhood app, go to the Profile tab
  2. Select Manage external accounts
  3. Tap the 3 dots on the top right of the account you want to disconnect
  4. Select Remove
Note

Removing an external account from Portfolio Overview won’t disconnect it from your Robinhood account if it is still linked for transfers. Review Managing your personal information sharing preferences for details.

Troubleshooting

Data freshness and update timing

For your Robinhood accounts:

  • There may be up to a 15 second delay in reflecting transactions you make.

For your externally linked accounts:

  • When you link an external account, we add its balance to all of your past Portfolio Overview data points. Any future balance changes to that account, including deposits or withdrawals, will show up as changes in your portfolio’s value. Because of this, if you link an external account and later withdraw money from it to an account that isn’t part of your Portfolio Overview, it will look like a decrease in your portfolio’s value and impact time span calculations.
  • External account data is refreshed once per day. Connection issues may cause balances to update differently than expected.
  • We calculate the value of tradable assets using live pricing data available on the Robinhood platform (quantity × price), and the calculated values may differ from the values shown in your linked account. Non-tradable asset values are updated once daily based on information received through Plaid.

Calculations when a value is negative

  • Some positions (like shorting, futures, or margin) can have a negative value, which reduces your overall portfolio value.
  • We don’t show % value changes for negative holdings.
  • To show how a negative holding contributes to your portfolio, we calculate its percentage using its absolute value along with your other holdings so you can see its share of your total portfolio exposure.

Missing accounts

If one or more of your accounts aren’t appearing:

  • Confirm the account is supported by Plaid’s investment or net worth APIs.
  • If your institution isn’t listed, it may not yet be available for connection.
  • Robinhood doesn’t currently support manual account entry.

Duplicate connections

If you accidentally link the same account more than once:

  • Robinhood automatically deduplicates accounts that are already authenticated.
  • If you still see duplicates, remove one connection:
  1. In your Robinhood app, go to the Profile tab
  2. Select Manage external accounts
  3. Tap the three dots on the top right of the account you want to disconnect
  4. Select Remove

Disconnected accounts

Connections may expire if your institution requires reauthentication or if Plaid loses access.

  • You’ll see an option to Reconnect next to any disconnected account.
  • Select Reconnect, and follow the prompts to reauthenticate securely through Plaid.
  • Historical data remains visible even when a connection is stale, but no new data will appear until you reconnect.
