Moving from Bitstamp to Robinhood

We’re excited to help you move from Bitstamp to Robinhood! Now you’ll be able to manage your crypto all in one place, and discover new ways to trade and invest. Learn more about the latest products and services on Robinhood.

Moving from Bitstamp

To provide you with a seamless trading experience, we’re offering Bitstamp customers the option to transfer all US dollars (USD) and supported crypto from Bitstamp to Robinhood with no fees.

  • Transfers usually complete in under 5 minutes
  • Assets are available to trade or withdraw as soon as the transfer is complete
  • Your Bitstamp account will be locked from all activity during the transfer
  • If you have other currency or crypto not supported on Robinhood, those assets will remain in your Bitstamp account and must be sold or withdrawn after the transfer
  • You’ll review all assets and balances before you begin
  • Any pending orders will be canceled and amounts will be included in your balances
  • All eligible assets have to be transferred together at the same time. You can’t select specific assets.
  • This is a one-time transfer offer. Cash or crypto received after your transfer has completed will be your responsibility to move out of your Bitstamp account.

Your Bitstamp account

Bitstamp will end support for some products and features soon, so moving your assets to Robinhood now will help ensure a seamless trading experience. After you transfer your assets to Robinhood, your Bistamp account will switch to either view-only mode or sell and withdraw-only mode.

  • View-only mode: If all of your assets were transferred, you will only be able to view account data and history on Bitstamp account data and history. All trading or transfer activity will happen on Robinhood.
  • Sell and withdraw-only mode: If you have remaining assets that weren’t transferred to Robinhood, you can sell or withdraw these assets. Once all assets are sold or withdrawn, your account will switch to view-only.

Eligible assets

Bitstamp assets that will transfer include:

Assets that aren’t supported on Robinhood will stay in your Bitstamp account and must be sold or withdrawn after your transfer. Account activity and settings, like recurring investments and linked payment methods, won’t be transferred.
