Spousal consent | Robinhood

Spousal consent

If you live in Lithuania and want to trade certain investment products, like Stock Tokens, Lithuanian law requires us to confirm whether you are married.

  • If you are single, no further action is needed.
  • If you are married, you must provide a notarized consent form from your spouse before you can trade.

This rule comes from the Bank of Lithuania and applies to both new and existing customers. Without approved spousal consent, you can browse Stock Tokens, but you will not be able to trade MiFID products.

When do I need to provide spousal consent?

You will need to submit spousal consent if:

  • You are new to Robinhood and select Married when creating your account.
  • You are an existing Lithuanian customer who already trades MiFID products and we have contacted you by email to request it.
  • You move to Lithuania or your marital status changes.

What must the form include?

Your spousal consent form must be completed in full and notarized. We will need the following information from both you and your spouse.

From you (account holder):

  • First and last name
  • Personal identification number
  • Document title and number (passport or ID)
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email used for your Robinhood account

From your spouse:

  • First and last name
  • Personal identification number
  • Expiry date of the consent (if applicable)
  • Signature and notary stamp

How to provide spousal consent

  1. Download the spousal consent template
  2. Fill out all fields (details must match your Robinhood account exactly)
  3. Get it notarized
  4. A notary public must sign and stamp the form (Apostille not required)
  5. Submit your form to cryptoeusupport@robinhood.com

We will review your document in 2–4 business days. If approved, your account will be updated for trading. If corrections are needed, we will email you with the details. If you fail to provide spousal consent, your account may be restricted from trading MiFID products.

Keep in mind

If your marital status changes, you must notify Robinhood and provide the relevant legal documents.
