¿Qué es Cardano?

Cardano (ADA) es una plataforma de criptoactivos y cadena de bloques que se lanzó en 2017. Como plataforma, el objetivo de Cardano es ser lo más sostenible posible para el medio ambiente mediante el uso de un sistema proof-of-stake (PoS), que requiere menos capacidad de procesamiento que los modelos alternativos proof-of-work (PoW). Al igual que Bitcoin, las transacciones se liquidan en la primera capa de Cardano, y los contratos inteligentes se ejecutan en la segunda capa de Cardano, que es similar a Ethereum. ADA es el token nativo de Cardano y se utiliza tanto para pagar las comisiones de transacción como para permitir a los usuarios participar en el PoS de Cardano.
