¿Qué es Solana?

Solana es una cadena de bloques descentralizada creada para desarrollar aplicaciones escalables y fáciles de usar que fue lanzada en 2017 por la Fundación Solana, con sede en Ginebra, y Solana Labs, con sede en San Francisco. En teoría, Solana puede procesar hasta 65.000 transacciones por segundo con tarifas bajas mediante la combinación de mecanismos de consenso proof-of-stake y proof-of-history. La criptomoneda nativa de Solana que se utiliza para pagar las tasas de transacción se denomina SOL, que teóricamente no tiene una oferta máxima total.
