Downloading Your Tax Documents
Note: Please update to the latest version of the app for 2019 tax season. We made changes to the app to improve the tax experience and we don’t want you to miss out on them.
All of your tax documents will be ready February 15th. You may receive an email before then, but please wait until February 15th for Robinhood to confirm how many Form 1099 tax documents you have, if any. Please wait to file your taxes until February 15th.
Depending on the dates of your trading activity last year, you may receive more than one Form 1099 from Robinhood. If you traded cryptocurrencies last year, you may also receive an additional Form 1099 from Robinhood Crypto, LLC. Here is how to know which forms you will receive:
If you had a taxable event (for example, you sold equities or options, received a referral stock, or received dividends) prior to November 9th, you will receive a Form 1099 from our former clearing partner, Apex Clearing Corp (“Apex”).
If you had a taxable event between November 10th and December 31st, you will receive a Form 1099 from Robinhood Securities, LLC, our new clearing platform.
If you sold cryptocurrencies in 2018, you will receive separate PDF and CSV files of your Form 1099 from Robinhood Crypto, LLC for crypto activity in 2018.
Corrected Forms: If you received an updated or amended Form 1099 tax document, please make sure that you’ve filed your taxes in accordance with this updated information. This may require re-filing your taxes.
You won’t receive a tax document if the proceeds from your dividends did not exceed $10 in the filing year, or if you didn’t sell stock.
We provide a consolidated Form 1099 document, which includes information found on the Forms 1099-DIV, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, and 1099-B.
You can access your consolidated Form 1099 in your mobile app:
