Downloading Your Tax Documents

Note: Please make sure your app is updated to receive updates for the 2021 tax season.

When will my 1099 be ready to view?

All of the 1099 forms you will need from Robinhood this year will be ready starting February 16, 2021. You may receive more than one 1099 if you had taxable events at both Robinhood Securities (for example, if you sold stocks or options) and Robinhood Crypto (if you sold cryptocurrency) in 2020. If you need a corrected 1099 this year, you can expect to receive it by March 31, 2021. If you don't need any tax documents from us for 2020, we'll email you by mid-February.

Why did I receive multiple tax documents?

If you traded cryptocurrencies last year, you may also receive an additional Form 1099 from Robinhood Crypto, LLC. Here is how to know which forms you will receive:

  • Robinhood Securities IRS Form 1099:

If you had a taxable event in 2020, you will receive a Form 1099 from Robinhood Securities, LLC, our clearing platform.

  • Robinhood Crypto IRS Form 1099:

If you sold cryptocurrencies in 2020, you will receive separate PDF and CSV files of your Form 1099 from Robinhood Crypto, LLC for crypto activity in 2020.

Corrected Forms: If you received an updated or amended Form 1099 tax document, please make sure that you’ve filed your taxes in accordance with this updated information. This may require refiling your taxes.

Why didn’t I receive a tax document?

You won’t receive a tax document if the proceeds from your dividends did not exceed $10 in the filing year, or if you didn’t sell stock.

What tax documents do you provide?

We provide a consolidated Form 1099 document, which includes information found on the Forms 1099-DIV, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, and 1099-B.
