Downloading Your Tax Documents
Note: Please make sure your app is updated to receive updates for the 2021 tax season.
All of your tax documents for 2020 will be ready before February 16, 2021. Keep in mind: you may not receive tax documents from us, but we’ll still let you know if you don’t have any.
Please wait until mid-February to file your taxes to avoid having to refile. By then, Robinhood will have finalized your Form 1099 tax documents.
You may receive more than one Form 1099 from Robinhood if you held an account with Apex Clearing Corp (“Apex”), our former clearing firm. If you traded cryptocurrencies last year, you may also receive an additional Form 1099 from Robinhood Crypto, LLC. Here is how to know which forms you will receive:
If you had a taxable event (for example, you sold equities or options, received a referral stock, or received dividends) during 2020 at our former clearing partner Apex Clearing Corp (“Apex”), you will receive a Form 1099 from them.
If you had a taxable event in 2020, you will receive a Form 1099 from Robinhood Securities, LLC, our new clearing platform.
If you sold cryptocurrencies in 2020, you will receive separate PDF and CSV files of your Form 1099 from Robinhood Crypto, LLC for crypto activity in 2020.
Corrected Forms: If you received an updated or amended Form 1099 tax document, please make sure that you’ve filed your taxes in accordance with this updated information. This may require refiling your taxes.
You won’t receive a tax document if the proceeds from your dividends did not exceed $10 in the filing year, or if you didn’t sell stock.
We provide a consolidated Form 1099 document, which includes information found on the Forms 1099-DIV, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, and 1099-B.
You can access your consolidated Form 1099 in your mobile app:

We recommend that you download Google PDF Viewer for viewing documents downloaded from your Robinhood app.
We don’t provide customers with K-1 forms. If you own shares in a limited partnership or trust, they would provide you with the K-1 form.
