IRA Learn and Earn | Robinhood

IRA Learn and Earn

Earn rewards when you learn about the benefits of long-term investing in an IRA (Individual Retirement Account) at Robinhood. Learn more about traditional and Roth IRAs at Robinhood in IRA overview.

How it works

There are 2 types of Robinhood retirement Learn and Earn lessons—both of which cover IRAs and long-term investing. To receive your IRA Learn and Earn reward, first read a quick lesson about IRAs and long-term investing. After completing the lesson, successfully open an IRA account or fund the IRA you already have at Robinhood and the reward will automatically be deposited into your individual investing account.

Keep in mind

You can only earn a reward from a Learn and Earn lesson one time, and your reward amount may vary. There is a limited supply of rewards, so the reward will only be available until it runs out.

FAQ

Am I eligible?

The IRA Learn and Earn feature isn't available to all customers.

You may not be eligible for rewards if:

  • You have any restrictions on your accounts
  • The limited supply of rewards is no longer available
  • You have not completed your tax certification, or certified with a W-8

How much can I earn?

For a limited time only, until the supply of rewards has run out, you may earn up to $5. The reward amount will vary.

When will I receive my reward, and in which account?

You’ll typically see the reward deposited within 5 business days. The reward will be deposited into your individual investing account, not your IRA.

How is the reward money treated for tax reporting purposes?

The reward money is deposited into your individual investing account, and may be reported as other income on your 1099-MISC, which will be sent during tax season each year.
