How to send in documents

We may ask you to send us a few documents to verify we have all the information we need for your Robinhood account. We’ll send you an email detailing which documents we need, why we need them, and how to submit them. Check out this guide for tips and tricks on how to successfully submit your documents and verify your account.

How to submit documents through the app:

  1. If we ask you to upload a document in the mobile app, you’ll see a card in your app instructing you to take a photo of your document.
  2. Tap Take Photo Now on the card in the investing tab.
  3. Select the type of document (if applicable).
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to take a photo of your document.

How to submit PDF Bank Statement through the app:

  1. If we ask you to upload a PDF bank statement within the mobile app, you’ll see a card in your app instructing you to submit your document.
  2. Download the most recent PDF statement from your banking institution’s app or website into the files on your device.
  3. Tap Upload PDF Statement on the card to pull up your files on your device.
  4. Select the PDF statement from your files.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to submit your PDF document.

How to upload documents through our secure file portal:

  1. If we ask you to upload a document to our secure file portal, we’ll send you an email with a secure link to upload your document. Click the link.
  2. Type in your Case ID. You’ll find this in your email from the support team.
  3. Type in your email address.
  4. Drag and drop to attach your file.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. Reply to the email from us containing the upload link to let us know you submitted your document so that we can begin the review process.

Troubleshooting

Why am I getting an error message?

Is your PDF file password protected?

  • If so, please remove the password from your PDF statement and try again.

Is your file too large?

  • The file size limit is 10MB. Reduce size by removing blank pages and compressing the PDF to the lowest size option available.

Is the file unreadable?

  • Please try to download a new PDF bank statement.
