Trust account match
When you transfer external assets into a Robinhood trust account using ACATS, Robinhood will match 1% of your transferred amount—with no cap. This match is available to all trustees on eligible trust accounts, whether or not you have Robinhood Gold.
You may be eligible if:
A few things that affect your match amount:
The trust account match is available for transfers initiated between August 13-September 11, 2026. Review the Terms and Conditions for details.
Matched funds come with a 5-year holding period, which means:
No. The 1% match is available to all eligible trustees, whether or not you subscribe to Robinhood Gold.
No, the match is uncapped. You'll receive 1% of your net eligible transfer amount regardless of size.
Yes. Any trustee, the grantor or a non-grantor trustee, can initiate the ACATS-In transfer and trigger the match.
Only self-directed, revocable, taxable trust brokerage accounts. Trust accounts can't hold IRAs, custodial assets, or be structured as joint accounts, so those aren't eligible.
The match is paid automatically, instantly after your ACATS transfer settles. There's no separate step to claim it. In some cases, the match payment may take longer to land in your account.
You may lose some or all of the match through a prorated chargeback if you withdraw funds that dip into your matched amount before the 5-year holding period is complete.
Robinhood Financial LLC ("Robinhood") Trust Account Match Promo (the "Bonus Offer") is subject to these Terms & Conditions.
Eligibility. The Bonus Offer is only available to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C. who are at least 18 years of age, directly receive this offer, and have: (1) successfully opened a self-directed revocable trust brokerage account ("Trust Account") and (2) within the Offer Period, successfully initiated an Automated Customer Account Transfer Service ("ACATS") transfer of new funds or investments to their Trust Account from an external brokerage account. Any authorized Trustee (whether Grantor or non-Grantor) on the Trust Account may initiate the qualifying ACATS transfer. ACATS transfer must be successful to qualify for the Bonus Offer. Robinhood reserves the right to limit availability of this promotion to select customers.
Offer. Trust Account Match Bonus. For eligible Robinhood customers who complete an ACATS transfer within the Offer Period, Robinhood will deposit an uncapped 1% match of the net transferred asset value to the customer's Trust Account, subject to a five-year earn-out as discussed below. "Net transferred asset value" is the total value of the initiated ACATS minus the value of any outflows from August 13, 2026 at 9:00 AM PT until the ACATS is settled, excluding outflows that led to a chargeback. Internal transfers of assets from the Trust Account to a Grantor's individual or Joint account are not treated as withdrawals or outflows for purposes of this definition, and are instead governed by the Internal Transfers provision described below. The Offer Period begins August 13, 2026 at 9:00 AM PT and ends September 11, 2026 at 9:00 PM PT; however, Robinhood may change these dates at any time without notice. Transferred assets are eligible if they are initiated during the Offer Period. The Bonus will be credited to the customer's Trust Account automatically once the ACATS transfer settles; however, in some cases, payment may be delayed, including if Robinhood determines that there are indications of fraud, a violation of these Terms, or that additional review is otherwise required.
ACATS Fee Reimbursement. Robinhood will reimburse the customer for fees charged by the customer's outgoing brokerage firm in connection with a qualifying ACATS transfer under this Bonus Offer, up to a maximum of $75 per Trust Account. To receive reimbursement, the customer must submit documentation of the fee charged (e.g., a statement or confirmation from the outgoing brokerage firm) through the process specified by Robinhood. Reimbursement will be credited to the customer's Trust Account separately from the Bonus and is not subject to the Holding Period or chargeback provisions described below.
Limitations. If, during the 5-year period after receiving a Trust Account Match Bonus (the "Holding Period"), the Trust Account value after the customer initiates a withdrawal is below the net transferred asset value plus any Bonus they have received, Robinhood will chargeback a proportional amount of the Bonus, separate from and in addition to any ACATS out fee. The chargeback amount will be prorated based on the amount of time that has elapsed within the Holding Period as of the date of the withdrawal, such that the chargeback amount decreases the longer the Bonus has been held; a withdrawal that occurs later in the Holding Period will result in a smaller chargeback than the same withdrawal occurring earlier in the Holding Period. Robinhood will calculate the prorated chargeback amount in its sole discretion. If the customer has cash available in their Trust Account, this chargeback will be deducted from their available cash balance. If the customer has insufficient cash available in their Trust Account to cover the chargeback, the customer will remain responsible for any resulting account deficit. Withdrawals include, but are not limited to, a debit card transaction from a customer's Trust Account, originated and non-originated ACH, and ACATS. However, a withdrawal shall not include the purchase of a security or other investment within your Trust Account.
Internal Transfers: Moved-match logic applies to internal transfers between a Trust Account and any other Robinhood brokerage account (e.g., a Grantor's individual or Joint brokerage account); the match will follow the assets rather than triggering a chargeback on an internal move. Special provisions may apply to Trust Accounts that report tax information under the Trust's own taxpayer identification number rather than a Grantor's Social Security Number; Robinhood will determine the appropriate treatment of the Bonus in such cases in its sole discretion.
Violation of the Terms. In the event that Robinhood determines in its sole discretion that there may have been fraudulent activity or a violation of these Terms in connection with the Bonus, Robinhood reserves the right to either decline to grant the Bonus, or to rescind or liquidate the Bonus, or any security or any related dollar proceeds derived from the Bonus.
Calculation and settlement: The amount of the Bonus is calculated based on 1% of the net transferred asset value (as defined above), using the national market system closing price of each position transferred into the account on the trading day before when the transfer settles. Settlement is deemed to occur when the securities are posted to the account and available to trade. Please note that the Bonus is only available for securities that successfully transfer and settle, and will not be granted for securities that are rejected.
Not a recommendation. The Trust Account Match Promo is not a recommendation of any investment or investment strategy, and is not a recommendation that a customer transfer assets into a Robinhood Trust Account. Robinhood reserves the right to change the offer terms or terminate the offer at any time without notice. The offer is not transferable, saleable, or valid in conjunction with certain other offers. The offer is only valid for ACATS transfers into a self-directed revocable trust brokerage account (other account types including, but not limited to, individual, joint accounts, and retirement accounts, are not eligible for this offer). The offer is only available for personal use, and may not be used for commercial purposes. Void where prohibited. Social media and web content are for promotional purposes only.
Taxes. Consult with your tax advisor about the appropriate tax treatment for this offer and any tax implications associated with receipt of a cash reward before enrolling. For taxable accounts, the value of all Robinhood offers received or charged back may be reported as Miscellaneous Income on a Form 1099-MISC where required by applicable rules and regulations. Robinhood does not take responsibility for any tax related to this cash reward.
