Buy crypto with Robinhood Connect

You can transfer crypto directly from your Robinhood Crypto account to your wallet with no Robinhood fee — only network fees. Additionally, you can use your existing individual buying power to purchase crypto without any Robinhood fees.

  1. Within participating dapps and wallets, select Use Robinhood Connect
  2. Log in with your Robinhood account info
  3. Enter the amount that you’d like to buy (you’ll see the estimated amount in US dollars)
  4. Choose the funding method
  5. Select Review Order
  6. Acknowledge the wallet address is correct
  7. Select Submit

New to Robinhood?

If you're new to Robinhood, you can sign up through Robinhood Connect. Through Robinhood Connect, you can purchase crypto using a debit card via the Robinhood Spending account and Robinhood Crypto account created. Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Open your self-custody wallet or dapp
  2. Select Buy cryptoPayment options
  3. Select Robinhood Connect
  4. Select a USD value of coins to purchase → Continue
  5. You’ll be prompted to sign in to your Robinhood account, or select Create an account to open a Robinhood Spending account and Robinhood Crypto account
  6. Follow the steps to enter your information
  7. Sign the Robinhood Spending and Robinhood Crypto user agreements

After your accounts are created, you’ll need to verify your account by uploading a photo of your ID and taking a selfie photo. Next, you’ll be prompted to link a debit card. Review your order and confirm your wallet address is correct and then select Continue.

Fees

Network fee

Network fees are charges associated with processing certain crypto transactions, which are typically paid to miners for their services. This fee isn't charged by Robinhood.

Every Robinhood Connect on-chain crypto transaction incurs a network fee — sometimes called a miner fee or gas fee. The fee amount depends on, among other things, the coin and how many other transactions are happening on the coin’s network. For more information, review transfer limits and fees.

Robinhood fee

This fee covers the following transaction costs for Robinhood Connect as listed on the Robinhood Crypto Fee Schedule.

  • Robinhood buying power: No fee
  • Crypto transfers: No fee
  • Debit cards: 0.5-1.5%
  • Bank accounts: 0.5-1.5%

Participating platform fee

Participating platforms may charge a transaction fee, which is shown on the Robinhood Connect review screen. Robinhood doesn't keep any part of this fee.

Limits

  • Crypto transfers: You can send up to $5,000 worth of crypto or make up to 10 transfers total in a 24-hour period.
  • Debit cards with a Robinhood Spending account: Subject to the transfer limits that apply to your Robinhood accounts. You can find these in the app by going to Transfers → Transfer limits. You can make a maximum of 5 daily deposits for Robinhood Connect transactions, each capped at $500 (inclusive of any applicable fees), using your debit card.
  • Debit cards with a Robinhood investing account: You can purchase up to $1,000 using your debit card per business day.
  • Bank accounts: You can use up to $1,000 instant funds per business day.
