Rewards

The Robinhood Gold Credit Card offers an incredible rewards program. By default, cardholders earn 3x points on purchases, regardless of the category! You can earn up to 5x points on select purchases by completing transactions using the Robinhood Credit Travel Portal when you pay using your Gold Card instead of your points. Learn more in PointsTravel.

Redeem points

You can redeem points at any time by going to the Points tab in your Credit Card app. You can view your current point balance and choose from our 4 available redemption options. After completing your point redemption, you’ll see the redemption details in your transaction history on the home screen of the app.

Note

Point redemptions can’t be reversed or canceled after they have been initiated.

We offer 4 different options for redeeming points earned on your Robinhood Gold Credit Card:

Brokerage cash back

You can earn a 4.25% APY on your cash back once it’s transferred to your Robinhood investing account and you're enrolled in the cash sweep program! Your points earned can be converted to cash that is directly transferred into your Robinhood investing account. Because all Gold cardholders have a Gold subscription, with the cash sweep program, you can earn a 4.25% APY on your uninvested cash in your investing account. For more details and how to enroll, check out Brokerage cash sweep program interest rate (APY).

The redemption rate for this option is $0.01 per point and you can choose to transfer any amount of points as brokerage cash back. Once transferred, you can view this transfer history in the Robinhood app listed as Cash back reward from Robinhood credit card. You’ll also receive a confirmation email titled Your cash back redemption is complete. Select View transfer details to review your cash back in the Robinhood app.

Cash back never expires and stays as cash within the investing account to be used however you like. All cash back point redemptions are non-reversible. Once cash back point redemptions are initiated, we’re unable to refund them.

All cardholders need to have an individual investing account to access their cash back. If you don’t have one, you’ll first be prompted to make an individual investing account in the Robinhood app before being able to use the cash back feature in the Credit Card app. Cash back point redemption is only available for primary cardholders.

For more information about the benefits of Robinhood Gold and the potential APY you can earn from your Cash Back redemptions, check out Robinhood Gold.

Gift cards

You can use your points to purchase gift cards for select merchants using your points. Simply choose the merchant that you’d like to purchase a gift card with from our merchant list. Next, choose the gift card value from our list of pre-set options or by adding a custom amount. You’ll see how many points you’ll be redeeming to complete the purchase, confirm, and complete your gift card purchase.

Our point redemption rate for gift cards is $0.01 per point. If you don’t have enough points to complete your gift card purchase, you’ll be notified in the app. In order to complete your gift card purchase, you will need to select a gift card amount that is equal to or less than your current point balance value.

After you have purchased your gift card, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your gift card details. You can view this gift card and other previously created gift cards by going to PointsGift cardsView all. You can also add your gift cards to your mobile wallet or send your gift cards to anyone by selecting Share when viewing your card.

All gift cards will only be shared virtually and you won’t receive a physical copy of your gift card. Your gift card’s transaction information won’t appear in your Robinhood Credit app and similarly, your gift card balance won’t update as you make transactions. The app will only show the original gift card amount, merchant name, and card details. If you delete a gift card from the Gift cards section in the app, you can’t add it back.

Travel

Cardholders can earn 4.25% cash back if they book through the Travel Portal using their Robinhood Gold Card without using points. You can purchase flights and hotels using your points or your Robinhood Gold Card. You’ll only earn 4.25% cash back when you use your Gold Card, and not from point redemption.

Within the portal, you can search for flights and hotels. When searching for flights, your home airport will auto-populate initially. You can edit all fields to search for flights anywhere in the world! When completing purchases, you can choose to pay with your points at a redemption rate of $0.01 per point, pay with your Gold Card for 5X points, or use both points and your Gold Card to complete the transaction. Your Gold Card details will be available at the bottom of the portal page when checking out. You can also view your current points total and the value in dollars at the bottom of the portal page.

Note that you have to enter your Robinhood Gold Card details when checking out for us to be able to track this purchase, even if you’ll be completing your purchase using only points. Without entering your card details, we won’t have a way to record your point redemption and update your account after the transaction is complete. With this in mind, you’ll be prompted to enter your primary card details or choose the virtual card that you’d like to use to complete your transaction. You’ll also be informed if you have enough points to complete the purchase without using your credit or if part of your purchase total will be charged to your Credit account. You’ll only see your points redeemed once your purchase is complete, and this can be found in your transaction history in the app. If your purchase was split between point redemption and using your available credit, you’ll see 2 transactions in your transaction list.

If the purchase is made within the Travel Portal but you input other payment methods or card details outside of your Robinhood Gold Card, we won’t be able to track this purchase and your points won’t be redeemed. Additionally, you won’t be able to see the transaction details within your Robinhood Credit app and you won’t receive 4.25% cash back on that purchase. Instead the card that you entered will be charged and you’ll receive confirmation of your purchase via whatever means you normally do for that payment method.

Shopping

The Shopping section in the Points tab contains a list of select merchants that you can make purchases with directly using your Robinhood Credit Card points. When you select a merchant in this tab and then Shop with points, you’ll be redirected to the merchant’s website. When completing purchases, the default payment method will be your points at a redemption rate of $0.01 per point. If the transaction is larger than the amount of points you have available, the difference will be charged to your Robinhood Gold Card. You will be required to pay primarily with your points in the Shopping section, and will only be charged to your Gold Card if you do not have enough points for the full purchase.

Note that you have to use your Robinhood Gold Card at checkout in the Shopping section of the Points tab for us to be able to track this purchase, even if you’ll be completing your purchase using only points.

If the purchase is made within the Shopping section of the Points tab but you input other payment methods or card details outside of your Robinhood Gold Card, we won’t be unable to track this purchase and your points won’t be redeemed. Additionally, you won’t be able to see the transaction details within your Robinhood Credit app. Instead the card that you entered will be charged and you’ll receive confirmation of your purchase via whatever means you normally do for that payment method.

Referral program

We currently offer one referral program for the Gold Card. You can earn a limited edition 36g solid gold card by having 10 of your referrals join the waitlist and then upgrade to Robinhood Gold! In order for your referral to count, they need to:

  1. Join the waitlist from your referral link in Spending
  2. Upgrade to Robinhood Gold: If your referral doesn’t have an individual investing account yet, they’ll need to create one first and then upgrade to Robinhood Gold
  3. Make their first Gold subscription payment

Once each of these steps is completed, your referral is counted towards your 10 referrals required and you’re one step closer to receiving your solid gold card!

Anytime a referral upgrades to Robinhood Gold (pending referral) or makes their first Gold subscription payment (successful referral), you’ll receive an email notification with an update on your referral status.

For more information about how to refer friends, review Apply for the Robinhood Gold Card.

Disclosures

The Gold Card requires an annual Robinhood Gold subscription and does not include a 30 day free trial. You must have a Robinhood investing account to redeem cash back.

The brokerage cash sweep is an added feature to your Robinhood Financial, LLC individual investment account. Robinhood Gold is offered through Robinhood Financial LLC. For more information, review the Robinhood Gold User Agreement.

Interest is earned on eligible uninvested cash swept from your individual investment account to program banks. Program banks pay interest on your swept cash, minus any fees or charges paid to Robinhood. The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is 4.25% for Robinhood Gold members as of Nov 15, 2024. The APY might change at any time at the program banks' discretion. Additionally, any fees or charges Robinhood receives may vary and are subject to change. Neither Robinhood Financial LLC nor any of its affiliates are banks.

With the brokerage cash sweep program, the eligible uninvested cash in your individual investment account (cash intended for investing but that you have not yet invested or spent) is swept to program banks, where it becomes eligible for FDIC insurance up to $2.5 million or $250,000 per program bank, inclusive of any other deposits you may already hold at the bank in the same ownership capacity. If you opt out of one or more program banks, your FDIC insurance coverage may be reduced.
