Using advanced charts
Advanced charts expand on basic chart capabilities to bring powerful technical analysis tools—such as technical indicator data and customized intervals per time span—to traders who want to analyze deeper and act quickly.
Check out Using charts to learn more about basic charts. For information on how to use charts in Legend on the web, check out Charts in Robinhood Legend.
The following describes our mobile advanced chart experience that’s currently only available for stocks, ETFs and crypto. Advanced charts for crypto and futures in the app more closely resemble the web experience for advanced charts.
Some advanced chart features for crypto aren’t available on mobile yet. Here’s a couple things you should know before trading crypto on mobile advanced charts:
Zoom, pan, and scrub with touch gestures to modify the chart view:
From the chart, you can also tap on the current chart symbol in the search field and search for a different symbol whose chart you wish to view.
You can select the options chain icon to view the options chain for an equity:

If this option isn’t available, you may not have access to options trading.
You can select the technical indicator icon to view, add, remove, or customize indicators on the chart:

Select Save as set to save the currently added indicators as a group and apply the same set of indicators to other advanced charts. Any sets created will automatically sync with Robinhood Legend and vice versa–any sets created on Robinhood Legend will also be available on mobile.
Check out Chart indicators on Legend to see the full list of indicators supported in the app for stock and ETFs.
You can customize the advanced chart to your preferences with the various settings found in Chart settings (3 dots):

You can enter trades quickly from the chart in a few different ways:
The following shows an example of how you can place a limit order from the chart and drag to edit it.

Enabling auto-send allows you to place trades faster by skipping order confirmation screens. It may increase the chance of accidental trades—so make sure it’s the right fit for your trading style before turning it on. Review Auto-send to learn more about the risks and details about enabling and using auto-send.
On the web, advanced charts provide a number of technical analysis tools, such as candlestick charts, custom intervals, and technical indicators.
For information on how to use charts in Legend on the web, check out Charts in Robinhood Legend.
You can customize the chart to your preferences.
Indicators are calculated over a period of time, which are defined by the number of intervals. The length of an interval depends on the time span shown in the chart. You can select different time spans ranging from 1 day to MAX for stocks and ETFs, and 1 hour to 5 years for crypto. Each time span plots a different time interval. Interval lengths depend on the selected time span, the chart view, and the asset type you’re viewing it for.
With the 24-hour charts, the 1-day (1D) and 1-week (1W) charts show price movements during regular market, extended, and overnight hours, from 12 AM-12 AM ET (24 hours), Monday-Friday. For details, check out Robinhood 24 Hour Market.
The following lists the default time intervals for the available time spans for stocks, ETFs, and crypto.
You also customize the time interval you want to view for a specific time span in an advanced chart. Select the time span whose interval you want to change in the chart, and then select your preferred time interval.
To see all available technical indicators, you need to open the Advanced chart view (2-arrow or expand icon). There you can add, remove, and customize indicators. We’ll save your preferences and apply them to the advanced charts for other stocks. For more details about which technical indicators are supported for stocks and ETFs and crypto on the web and for crypto in the app, check out Technical indicators.
