If you reset your password but still see “Unable to log in with provided credentials,” try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Force-quit and reopen the Robinhood app (or quit and relaunch your web browser)
2. Disconnect from any VPNs or proxies
3. Clear your browser’s cache or your mobile app’s stored data
4. Ensure you’re typing the correct email and your new password exactly (watch for typos and correct capitalization)
5. If you still get the error, use the I need help flow on the login screen to request a fresh password reset link
6. Try logging in after waiting 10–15 minutes for email systems to process the reset

If you don't remember your password, you can request a reset link from the login screen.

2. Enter the email address on your Robinhood account
3. Check the inbox for a reset email from Robinhood. If it hasn’t arrived, check the spam or junk folder
4. Open the email and follow the link to create a new password

If you don’t see a reset email within a few minutes, first check your Spam or Junk folder. Then try these steps:

1. Confirm the email address you entered matches the one on file
2. Search your inbox for “Robinhood” or “password reset”
3. Refresh your inbox or clear your mail app’s cache
4. Whitelist emails from robinhood.com in your email settings
5. Request the password reset again on the login page

Make sure to set up an entirely new password. If you try to enter the previous password, you won’t be able to log in.

Forgot email

If you’ve lost access to the email on your account, you can still recover your account by verifying your identity a different way:

1. Open the Robinhood app and select Log in → I need help

2. Select I forgot my email

3. Enter your date of birth and Social Security number → Select Continue

4. When you receive the SMS challenge, enter the code you receive

   • If you didn’t receive the code, select Resend Code (Please wait a few minutes for the code to arrive. Depending on your carrier, you may need to retry multiple times. If there’s an error, you may be prompted to reach out to our support team).

5. Follow the prompts and upload:

   • A clear photo of the front and back of your government ID

   • A three-point live selfie

Once we’ve reviewed and approved your ID and selfie, we’ll approve your login.

FAQ

How long is the reset link valid? The reset link expires after 1 hour. If your link has expired, return to the login screen and select Forgot password? to request a new one.

What if the link is expired by the time I open it?
Go back to the login screen and request a new password reset. A new link will be sent to your email.

What if I no longer have access to the email address and or phone number on my account? If you can't access the email address or phone number associated with your Robinhood account, you won't be able to receive a reset link. Instead, you can verify your identity directly from the login screen by following these steps:

1. On the login screen, select I need help or Forgot email?
2. You'll be asked to provide your date of birth and your Social Security number
3. Complete identity verification, which may include uploading a government-issued ID and taking a live selfie
