Update your legal name

To update the legal first or last name on your Robinhood account, you'll need to contact Robinhood support. Simply type 'name change', in the support field and you'll be automatically guided through an interactive chatbot flow that helps you through the steps to process the update.

Make sure you have the following documents ready to upload:

  • A photo ID with your updated legal name which will be submitted through an in-app prompt on the Investing tab after you reach out
  • A photo of the legal name change court document or marriage license, if applicable, which will be submitted through a secure file submission link provided by a Robinhood support agent
