Update your legal name

To update the legal first or last name on your Robinhood accountt:

  1. Go to Robinhood Support
  2. Select Your support chats, and start a new chat
  3. Enter Name change, and then select Send
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions

Make sure you have the following documents ready to upload:

  • A photo ID with your updated legal name, which you’ll get an in-app prompt to submit through
  • A photo of the marriage license or other legal name change court document, if applicable, which we’ll give you a secure file submission link to submit through

Most name change requests are completed within 5 business days after you submit all required documents. You’ll get an email when your name change is approved.
