Are there fees?

Robinhood cuts as many fees as possible but you might need to pay some fees based on your unique account activity.

Note

Effective November 30, 2023

When you use your Robinhood spending account, the following applies.

  • Maintenance fees: We don’t charge fees to open, close, or maintain a spending account.

  • ATM fees: When you make a withdrawal from an ATM, we charge a $2.50 fee. However, if you have $300 or more in direct deposits over the last 34 days, we’ll reimburse your Robinhood ATM fees following the settlement of the ATM transaction (typically 1 to 2 business days). Keep in mind, out-of-network ATM providers may also charge a third-party fee, and we won’t reimburse that fee. Note that your ATM transaction may be declined if you don’t have sufficient remaining funds in your spending account to cover the ATM fees, including refundable fees. For more details, review the fee schedule in the Spending Account Agreement.

  • Inactive account fees: We don’t charge fees for account inactivity.

  • Foreign transaction fees: We don’t charge fees for using your Robinhood Cash Card abroad. Mastercard® will automatically convert currencies for you at a rate selected by Mastercard. Though Robinhood doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees, if you choose to pay a foreign debit card transaction in US dollars, or choose to withdraw funds from a foreign ATM in US dollars, the merchant or ATM operator may charge you a currency conversion fee. Review our Cash Card Agreement for information about foreign currency exchange.

  • Transfer fees: We don’t charge a fee for transferring money between a bank and your spending account.

  • Card replacement fees: If your card is lost, stolen, or damaged, Robinhood will send you a new card free of charge.

No dollar minimum is required to open or maintain a spending account.

You also don’t need to worry about overdraft fees because your Robinhood Cash Card prevents overdraft by default. We’ll decline transactions that make you go negative if you don’t have enough available cash to cover it. We don’t charge you anything for getting declined for insufficient funds. If you’re making a payment to a third party, and the transaction is declined because you don’t have sufficient funds, the third party may charge you a fee.

Keep in mind

Third-party fees may apply to your spending account activity. The fee schedule in the Spending Account Agreement has details.
