Trading with your agent
Once you’ve set up a built-in or external agent on Robinhood, you can start using it to trade.
You are ultimately responsible for the trades your AI agent places in your Agentic account.
You’re in charge of your trades. When you use an AI agent to place orders, all investment decisions are yours. Before your agent takes action, you can review what it’s about to do. Be aware that if you’ve asked your agent to take action without asking your approval, it can place trades without your confirmation.
You can currently use a built-in or external agent to place long equities, options, and crypto orders.
To place a trade, simply ask your agent to place an order. All orders will appear in the Activity section of your agentic account and in your Robinhood history.

Robinhood Agents cannot place multi-leg options orders for you, but you can still place multi-leg orders in the app manually, as long as your account is approved for the appropriate options level.
Trade approvals are still rolling out for MCP accounts. Not all customers have access.
Trade approvals is a safety control for agentic trading. If you turn the setting on, your agent can propose trades, but you must review and manually place the proposed orders in the Robinhood app. With trade approvals off, your agent can place eligible trades for you without your manual confirmation of each order. Trade approvals are turned on by default for Robinhood Agents (built-in agents), and are turned off by default for MCP accounts (external agents). To use your built-in or external agent to place crypto trades, you need to:
If you don't have a Robinhood Crypto account yet, your agent can't open one for you, but it can point you to where to set one up in the app. Once you accept the updated agreement, crypto trading is enabled in your Agentic or MCP account automatically.
Your agent can trade crypto, but it can't transfer, stake, or lend it. Those actions need to be done by you directly in the app.
Your agent can only place crypto trades in your MCP or agentic accounts, and only for currency pairs that are tradable at Robinhood.
Crypto trading through your agent isn't available in some states, including New York.
Built-in and external agents can both use tools. Each can access a slightly different set.

Robinhood Agentic Trading is a new type of brokerage product that allows you to connect a third-party AI agent to a dedicated Robinhood account to automate investment decisions and order placement. This product operates differently from traditional investing and trades may be executed by an AI agent without your direct input on each transaction.
Agentic trading involves significant risk, including the possible loss of your entire investment. AI-driven strategies may perform poorly under certain market conditions, move quickly, and may be difficult to monitor or stop in real time. This product may not be appropriate for all investors.
