We collect certain information in order to deliver products and services, to communicate with you, to make your experience more personal and relevant, to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.

Downloading data

Requesting to access certain personal information

Here’s how to request your data download:

  1. Tap the Account tab in the bottom right corner of the app
  2. Tap the Menu icon in the top right corner (3 horizontal lines)
  3. Tap Security and Privacy
  4. Tap Request Personal Data and then tap Request personal data. We’ll notify you by email once your request is complete and your download is available.

It may take a few weeks to prepare your download. Once it’s ready, your data will be available to download in the app for 30 days.

What data is in the download?

Personal information in the following categories will be included in the download. The download is not an exhaustive list of personal information, and is limited as provided by federal laws governing financial institutions. See our Privacy Policy for more information on the personal information we collect and how it’s used.

Data you provide

Personal information

May include your name, email address, physical address, date of birth, citizenship, number of dependents, and marital status.

Investment profile

Includes your personal details such as employment, marital status, number of dependents, and your investment and asset knowledge assessment results, and information related to marketing.

Data we collect automatically

Marketing interactions

Includes device identifiers (like IP address or mobile device identifiers), ad campaign interactions, and data related to Robinhood Snacks.

Data from other sources

Data we generate

Your gender, inferred by your first name.

What data isn’t included in the download?

Not all the data we collect is included in your personal information download. We follow laws and regulations that outline what we’re required to share. For more information about the data we collect, how that data is used, and how we protect your privacy, please review our Privacy Policy.

Deleting data

Requesting to delete data

Here’s how to make a data deletion request:

  1. Tap the Account tab in the bottom right corner of the app
  2. Tap the Menu icon in the top right corner (3 horizontal lines)
  3. Tap Security and Privacy
  4. Tap Request Data Deletion and then tap Delete non-essential data. We’ll notify you by email once your request is complete and your data has been deleted.

Making a request to delete data won’t delete or deactivate your account.

What information will be deleted?

Data described below will be deleted. All data will not be deleted, as some things are essential to operating your account, and some things we’re required or permitted to keep under laws governing financial institutions.

Includes device identifiers (like IP address or mobile device identifiers), ad campaign interactions, and data related to Robinhood Snacks.

Data from other sources

Data associated with other users

If someone shares their contact list with us and you’re one of their contacts, we will delete personal information that associates you with that person.

Note

We retain personal information that is necessary for us to fulfill our legal obligations and that is not otherwise subject to deletion under applicable law.

Deleting data and deactivated accounts

Requesting to delete data won’t delete or deactivate your account. If you deactivate your account, Robinhood must retain certain data to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Learn more about closing your Robinhood account in our Help Center article.
