(« Bitbuy ») offre des contrats sur cryptoactifs pour l’achat et la vente d’Ethereum Classic en vertu d’une dispense de prospectus accordée par les Autorités canadiennes en valeurs mobilières (ACVM) dans la décision de dispense en date du 12 octobre 2022. À propos d’Ethereum Classic

En 2014, des fondateurs d’Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, Gavin Wood et Jeffrey Wilcke, ont commencé à travailler sur une chaîne de blocs de nouvelle génération conçue pour mettre en œuvre une plateforme de contrats intelligents générale et entièrement « sans confiance ». En 2016, à la suite d’un embranchement divergent visant à récupérer des fonds du piratage de « The DAO », la chaîne principale d’Ethereum a adopté de nouvelles règles de consensus, tandis que la chaîne originale inchangée a continué sous le nom d’Ethereum Classic. Aujourd’hui, Ethereum Classic reste fidèle au principe du « code est loi » et est devenue la plus grande chaîne de blocs de contrats intelligents à preuve de travail (PoW - Proof-of-Work) après la transition d’Ethereum vers la preuve d’enjeu en 2022. Attaques à 51 % contre le réseau Ethereum Classic

Bien que le réseau Ethereum Classic ait subi trois attaques importantes à 51 % en août 2020, la communauté de développement a depuis exécuté des mises à niveau de sécurité critiques pour atténuer ces risques. À la suite de ces incidents, le réseau a adopté la Modified Exponential Subjective Scoring (MESS) pour prévenir les réorganisations de chaîne à grande échelle et la mise à niveau « Thanos » (ECIP-1099), qui a recalibré le graphe orienté acyclique (DAG - Directed Acyclic Graph) pour permettre à un plus large éventail de matériel de minage de sécuriser le réseau. Ces améliorations, associées au statut d’Ethereum Classic en tant que destination principale pour les mineurs après la fusion d’Ethereum, ont poussé le hashrate du réseau à des niveaux records dépassant 300 térahashs par seconde (TH/s) d’ici 2025.
